Where the Roses Grow is an exploration of family, memory, and the stories that pass quietly from one generation to the next. Rooted in my own family history, the project looks at how we inherit memories of events we did not experience ourselves, and how absence, silence, photographs, and fragmented stories shape our understanding of where we come from.
I explore the fragile space between remembering and forgetting, asking how the past continues to live within a family long after those who experienced it are gone. (ongoing)
